JACOB PALALAY,
creative director & co-founder
Jacob
is always quick to tell people he's a Virginian—proudly Hampton Roads born and bred. In 2011 he graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, S.C., with his B.A. in Journalism & Mass Commu nications, dual concentration: print journalism & PR, minor in graphic design. He got his first campaign job with the 2012 Obama-Biden campaign as a field organizer in his hometown, Newport News. Since then, the majority of Jacob's work has remained focused around politics and advocacy, with an emphasis on Obamacare, voting rights/access, LGBTQ inclusion, DE&I, climate change and sustainability. Forever an organizer at heart, Jacob has a penchant for community-first messaging and a successful track record with cross-the-aisle relationship building. He is currently a member of both the PRSA and PRSA - National Capital Chapter.
As creative director at G.Rickey, Jacob values his ability to balance political campaign work with events and design projects. In addition to politics, Jacob's other interests that drive his inspiration at G.Rickey include fashion, typography, interior design and layout design—all of which are likely rooted in his old-school fascination with fashion magazines. In his spare time, Jacob and his fiancé Seth revel in Washington's architecture, museums and restaurants (although they try to get to rural Virginia and Pennsylvania often). Jacob loves cooking pork, always has a playlist for every occasion and dislikes the Oxford comma.
